Pulling the cotton out of a pill container with tweezers

Opening a new bottle of pills is a pretty satisfying experience all around. First you have the little neat box that you can shake to hear the pills inside. Then you open the box and toss the unsatisfying instructions out. Then, you peel off the protective plastic on the bottle, revealing a fresh pill cap to pop off. You line up the arrows, or push and rotate, or whatever other child-proof hurdle you need to clear, and set the cap aside. Then you’re greeted by a foil barrier.
If you’re like me, your fingernails have the strength of a piece of paper, so you’re likely to not get much farther than a dent in the foil and a bent or ripped nail (sorry for the visual). Not satisfying. This is where our little friends tweezers come in. Tweezers are responsible for many satisfying activities. They make things accessible that we could only dream of achieving with our fat fingers - pulling out our eyebrows, soldering, extracting small items out of cracks in the floor, etc. In this situation, there’s a Multiple Satisfaction Opportunity (MSO), because not only can we use the tweezers to puncture the foil (satisfying), we also can use them to pull the foil off in pieces or in one big chunk (even more satisfying) and then go in for the kill, pulling out the big wad of cotton by digging the tweezer ends firmly into its fleecy luster (most satisfying).
God forbid you have geltabs awaiting you once you go through this ordeal, because the satisfaction gauge, or ‘Yes Factor’ (YF) increases by double and you might need a moment to compose yourself. Just think if you went through all that enjoyment only to find gritty, oblong, seamed pills that make that harsh, tic tac-style sound when you shake the bottle. Geltabs not only slip and slide and are shiny and delightful to look at (much like the glossy buttons on websites, another item on our list to be covered later), but when you shake them, they make a light, almost marble-like sound amongst each other. It’s worth noting that if you need these pills for a throbbing headache or the like, your satisfaction level is likely to dwindle a bit. Best to do it when you’re healthy so you can have easy access to your medicine later, and to fully enjoy the experience.
As our dear friend Alanis tells us, “swallow it down” and let us know what other containers are satisfying to open. Pudding? Yogurt? Crayons?
