Travel size toiletries

One surefire way to make something that would otherwise be ordinary into something wicked satisfying is to make it smaller. I’m not sure why, but it just seems to work out that way. Cake -> cupcake, standard stapler -> mini-stapler, tree -> bonzai, you get the picture. Well it just so happens that toiletries are not only no exception to this theory, they are one of the best examples. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the wicked satisfying phenomenon - travel size toiletries.
You may not give it a second thought when you’re sauntering through your favorite local pharmacy, smelling all of the deodorants and laughing at the ugly $4 bras…okay maybe that’s just me…but you’ve undoubtedly seen the sacred travel size aisle. It’s usually near the shaving cream or hair coloring and stuff, but you’ll be able to find it because you’ll feel the magnetic pull of its glowing satisfaction from aisles away.
In those little wire baskets are dozens of mini shampoos, mini soaps, mini shaving creams, mini mouthwash, mini floss, mini hairspray, mini medicine pouches, and mini toothpaste. This is a goldmine for anyone who’s been aiming to try out a new product but didn’t want to buy the entire thing for fear that it’d be a waste of money. Or, you know, if you’re like, traveling I guess. You could even buy some shampoos and soaps, stick them in your shower, and pretend you’re at a hotel! Now wouldn’t that be luxurious?
Next time you go drop off those scandalous dinner party negatives or need to kill some time waiting for your Prozac, wander over to the travel size aisle. You won’t be disappointed. Travel size items generally mimic their real-size counterparts completely. They’re just like someone tossed them in Photoshop, scaled them, and re-saved. My personal favs - mini-toothpaste, and mini-shaving cream. Both creamy. Both fun to squeeze from their containers. Both tiny. Both satisfying.
