Pressing cookie cutters into cookie dough

Cutting anything out of anything is generally pretty satisfying, you have to admit. But…there’s that extra special little something that comes with executing a cleanly cut cookie. It’s probably because cookie dough is similar to other wicked satisfying things that we’ve covered like clay and fondant. All of these can be cut into smooth creamy shapes like stickers, and we all know stickers are satisfying.
Holiday time is slowly approaching, but there’s always a good occasion to induce maximum satisfaction in the kitchen. Whether you buy the premade stuff to roll out, or craft your own cookie dough, it doesn’t matter too much. Make sure it’s nice and cold, floured well, and have at it.
I think one of the most satisfying parts of cookie cutting is the gritty crunch you get when you press the cookie cutter down into the surface you’re cutting on, feeling the metal plow through all of that delicious sugar. *drool*
Then you can scoop it up with a spatula and put it on a cookie sheet for baking! You might just enjoy eating it as much as you enjoy cutting it!
Buying a tub of grocery store cookies - satisfying.
Cutting through doughy goodness in the shape of hearts, stars and animals - wicked satisfying.
